Naomi is the artist and the mama. Layne is the exuberant little boy who inspires the work. Together we spend our days working to cultivate a homemade, handmade life. Naomi paints, draws, makes toys, teaches Layne, teaches painting from her studio, scrubs, bakes, rearranges furniture, walks to the post office, and attempts to grow heirlooms while Layne invents monster traps, writes monster novels, draws monsters, watches monster movies, plays his violin, takes things apart, makes things explode, jumps off furniture, dances Folklorico and sword-fights the dog. Underlying all that we do is a commitment to good design, simplicity and self-reliance.
