I am an artist and a teacher. I have been painting, drawing, printing,
binding and making little things for as long as I can remember. I paint hefty, flat-like structures that consist of color, pattern and weight by editing out shadow and amplifying scale. They are made through observing piles, bundles and stacks of vintage fabrics that I have collected over the years for my many sewing and bookbinding projects. The sentimentality I hold for vintage fabrics is triggered by the countless memories I have of my sisters and I playing dress-up in my aunt’s boldly colored and patterned outfits that she wore in her days as a performer in her youth.
